The Story of Nesta Tayllur


Nesta is the Daughter of Camthalion Tayllur a trader of the Merchant district and Idril Súrion, Daughter of a wealthy yet not Noble family of the Sunrise District. Her mother married her father against her families wishes and was labeled an outcast.


Nesta's parents where killed on a trading journey. Their ship attacked by Pirates on the return journey, not far from the city. Nesta still not of age was taken in (unwillingly) by her Uncle Findecáno Súrion. Not having time for her he shipped her off to live on a plantation which he owned a share of. The Housekeeper was to instruct her in womanly duties and make her into a suitable Gentle Lady who he could Wed off tho the highest bidder.


Nesta rebelled against his wishes and ran off in to the forest dressed in a boys garments stolen from plantation clotheslines. She walked for three days, lost in the forest. On the third day she met Olwë Culnámo the son of a Plantation owner, who was camped on a hunting expedition. She gave only her last Name of Tayllur as her name. She told half the truth that she was orphaned and that her parents had been killed by thieves, attacking the wagon train of trade goods. By this time her uncle had given her up for dead. (She being a silly young girl in his mind.)


She returned to his home with him where his family being generous, kind hearted people took her in and allowed her to train in bow and sword with their son. all the while thinking her a boy. Until That time in a girls life when womanhood blossoms and she could no longer hide the fact that she was a girl. The family was appalled and angry, but she explained that she at first pretended to be a boy to protect herself from rape and harm. She only continued the lie afterward because she was afraid that they would cast her out of their home and not allow her to learn the use of weapons and the Ranger skills she wanted to learn in order to track down those who had killed her parents. Still angry at the lies an deception she was asked to leave.


Broken Hearted by their actions she returned to Her uncles home only to learn of his death at the Hand of the thieves he had been involved with. Among his papers she found his Journal detailing his involvement with the thieves for many years and that he had know of the attack on her parents ship before it happened. Writing "death was what his outcast of a sister deserved for marring beneath her."


Truly alone in the world Nesta set out to avenge her parents death with only her uncles Journal to provide the clues to those who had attacked their ship and killed them. The only name given in the journal was that of Vanthus Vanderboren. Which led her to her current position working for his sister and biding her time to confront him and see what he knows, about the attack on her parents and their deaths. The Journal is unclear if Vanthus is connected to the deaths or just and acquaintance. It was scribbled on a page near the back without any other information.
