Nesta goes shopping for a tattoo. Rudolpho finds out that Maria has left town on a ship. The platinum ring with the onyx skull reads, "elf blood darkens the waves, dread sea is mine."
Lavinia is concerned for her brother. She would still like to redeem him, but realizes he may be too far gone. If it is necessary, she asks that his death be swift.
Taking the cue from Penkus' note, the party descends on the Taxidermist's Hall. In pursuit of the "shoot first, ask questions later" philosophy, Rudolpho dispatches the taxidermist, Nemien Roblach. Vin recovers the suspect for interrogation, and Nemien rolls and shows the party the entrance to the Lotus Dragons lair. Nemien begs for freedom, and the party ties him up and descends down the ladder.
